DC Friends & Odd Moments

My wife loves Wonder Woman, and all icons of strong women. I grew up wanting to be Batman. Still … love … Batman. I like it when superheros are with softer characters, like the Ponies.

“Friends by the Sea”

I took a trip to San Diego and discovered my love of the octopus motif that seemed to be everywhere, one vendor was selling knitted octo-scarfs. Who wouldn’t adore being a wrap for Wonder Woman?

“Batphibian”

Not much to say about this one. It was fun to make.

“Friendship is Magic”

This one was a gift for my younger daughter. A lot like the concept of “ninja” is stretched in pop culture, so is the idea of “princess.” I think the characters were based on coloring pages. The leafage in the upper left is stenciled.

“Speed Kills”

Our speedsters (and Nibbler) are outrunning the trouble - as they all tend to do. I was struggling to not make this one so trite - the answer was Nibbler expressing himself.

“The Bat Mobile that Never Was”

I love the Batmobile from the 1960s. It is my most favorite car. I based this ride on a concept car I found online. The big back tire, red piping, fins and bat embellishments morphed this ride into a car silver-age Batman would really dig. Catwoman and Ace like it as well.

“Well Red Men”

Red is my favorite color. These character are so different and yet so the same. Daredevil, The Flash, and Hell Boy. I was inspired by stickers on Etsy.

“Batman & Robin”

This dynamic duo was made for my nephew. It’s one of the first “paintings” I did. I used all markers and paint pens. It was a little rough, so I used the “Oil Paint” function in Photoshop to give a little something. My nephew has the original. It remains a little meh (but I hear he likes it).
